Powai is a suburban neighbourhood situated on the bank of Powai Lake. It lies to the north-east of Mumbai. Surrounded by L.B.S. Marg (old Mumbai-Agra Road) to the north-east, Sanjay Gandhi National Park to the north, hills of Vikhroli Parksite to the south-east, and Chandivali to the south-west, Powai hosts offices of several corporate giants such as Deloitte, CRISIL, and Bayer, amongst others. Originally a central village, Powai has witnessed prolific and exponential growth in the recent years and has now turned out to be one of Mumbais most up-market commercial and residential hubs. It is replete with a number of luxury hotels, mega stores, and the offices of several commercial institutions. The famous landmark of this locality is the 120-year-old Powai Lake.

Connectivity

Powai is equipped with excellent road connectivity and bus services. The Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road which connects the western and eastern suburbs of the city also pass through this area. At a driving distance of about 5 kilometres lies the Mumbai International Airport. The city centre in south Mumbai is 25 kilometres away. The nearest railway station on the central main line of Mumbai Suburban Railway is the Kanjurmarg Railway Station. Vikhroli railway station is also nearby, around 3.5 kilometres from here. Powai is well-connected with the other major localities such as Chembur, Mulund, Ghatkopar, and Kurla, amongst others, via the Eastern Expressway and LB Road.
