    MahaRERA Imposes Rs 50-L Penalty On Unregistered Project In Goregaon West

    The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has been taking strict action against unregistered projects across the state. However, for the first time, the authority has slapped the highest-ever penalty on an unregistered project – Rs 50 lakh. The developer had not received an Occupancy Certificate (OC) for Wing A and B before May 1, 2017, violating Section 3 of the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016. So far, the authority has levied penalty ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh.

    PM Modi Inaugurates 135-Km Western Peripheral Expressway

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19 inaugurated the 83-km-long Kundli-Manesar section of this infrastructure project; the remaining 53-km stretch has been operational since April 2016. The expressway will offer signal-free connectivity to Palwal from Sonepat, bypassing Delhi. The expressway highway together with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, will divert as many as 50,000 heavy vehicles away from Delhi.

    The Mumbai Metro Line-IV has been planned as a fully elevated corridor with 32 stations from Wadala near south Mumbai and Kasarvadavli near Thane West via Ghatkopar and Mulund. There are plans to extend the line by 2.7 kilometres to Gaimukh. The 32.32-kilometre Metro corridor has an estimated cost of Rs 14,549 crore and is expected to be completed by 2021.

    Will 102-Km Elevated Corridor In Bengaluru Fix Traffic Woes?

    The Karnataka government on November 29 gave its approval to construct a 102-kilometre elevated corridor project in Bengaluru. The project, which was conceptualised 12 years ago, once constructed will ensure smoother traffic across north-south, east-west and in the central parts of the city. The development work will start in January next year and will be undertaken by the Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited. The project, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 25,495 crore, is likely to be completed by 2025.
