A suburb in eastern Mumbai, Chembur is situated at a distance of 22 kilometres from the city centre. The neighbouring suburbs include Deonar, Kurla, Govandi, Mahul, Ghatkopar, and Chunabhatti. For long distance trains, one can easily access the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus which lies in close proximity. Line 1 of Mumbai Monorail which opened in February 2014 has a terminus at Chembur.
