    Leisure Hub Coming On Gurgaon's Badshahpur Drain

    Work has started to convert a six-km stretch along the Badshahpur drain in Gurgaon into a leisure and entertainment hub. The idea was conceptualised by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) in July last year with an aim to keep encroachers at bay. The promenade-inspired area will be located between sectors 48, 72 and 34, adjacent to the drain with two ends being close to Tatvam Villas on the Sohna Road and the MCG office in Sector 34.

    Gurgaon Municipal Corporation Seals 91 Properties Over Tax Dues

    The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is yet to recover Rs 168 crore in property tax from 600 defaulters in the city. Taking an action against some of these defaulters, the corporation has sealed nearly 91 buildings in the municipal area for non-payment of property taxes and will be put up for auction on April 30, in case the owners fail to clear their dues until then. Earlier, the civic authority had decided to auction 37 properties of defaulters who owe the MCG crores of rupees as property tax.

    SC Slams Haryana For Allowing Construction Activity In Aravalli

    The Supreme Court (SC) came heavily on the Haryana government on March 1 for lifting a construction ban on the Aravalli green belt and ordered to hold off implementing the law for now. It was on February 27 that the state assembly had passed the Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA) Amendment Bill, 2019. This amended act was expected to open the Aravalli range in Gurgaon and Faridabad for real estate development, mining and quarrying.

    Planting Trees Must To Get Occupation Certificates, Building-Plan Approvals In Gurgaon

    With a view to increase the city’s green cover, the Municipal Corporation of Guruguram (MCG) has decided to give building plan approvals and occupation certificates to property owners only after they leave enough space to plant trees. The MGG has given an approval to rules in this regard, formulated on the lines of the Bengaluru civic byelaws 2003. The number of trees an owner has to plant will depend on the area in which he is developing a property.

    Gurgaon Municipal Body Takes Over Suncity Township

    The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has completed the taking over of the Suncity Township located at Sector 54 in Gurugram. Spread over 141 acre, the township, with 895 plots, is prone to a flood-like situation during the Monsoon. The MCG has to take over eight private colonies that were developed during the 1980s and where basic infrastructure is often in tatters.
