    Maharashtra Budget: Govt Allocates Rs 6,895 Cr For Affordable Housing

    The Maharashtra government allocated Rs 6,895 crore for affordable housing. The aim is to construct more housing for the lower-income groups and economically-weaker sections categories across the state. The state has also announced an outlay of Rs 2,400 crore for smart cities and the Amrut Mission. Real estate developers lauded the move to boost affordable housing in the state. Maharashtra’s Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in his Speech also said that Mumbai’s Metro network would be extended to 276 km from the current 11.4 km.

    MHADA Allows Resale Of Quota Flats

    The Maharashtra government has allowed the resale and mortgaging of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority flats that were allotted under the five per cent quota. The decision has been taken keeping in mind that most quota flats are inherited properties and allowing the sale or mortgage of such properties will help the owners raise funds for other purposes. Most of these government quota flats are located in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Nashik.

    All You Need To Know About Mumbai-Nagpur Super Expressway

    The Rs 49,247-crore project announced by the Devendra Fadnavis government is being developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation. With eight lanes, the 701-km super expressway has been designed to have vehicles running at a speed of up to 150 kilometre per hour (km/h) on flat terrain and up to 100 km/h on the mountainous terrain. These speeds will help the commuters travel from Mumbai to Aurangabad in four hours and another four hours to reach Nagpur.

    Property Prices Increased By Up To 22% In Q1, Shows NHB Residex

    Property prices across 33 cities in India have witnessed a rise of upto 22 per cent in the first quarter of the financial year 2018-2019 when compared to the same quarter of the previous fiscal, shows the National Housing Board’s housing price index, NHB Residex. Prices dropped by upto 13 per cent in 14 cities and remain stable in three, the index shows. The report released on January 2 studies property prices on a quarterly basis across 50 Indian cities, with FY2018 as the base year.
