UP Cabinet Approves Land Pooling Policy
The policy is aimed at fast tracking work on infrastructure projects in the state that have been delayed due to land acquisition issues. The policy, when launched, will cut down the compensation negotiations with the farmers, which has been a major cause of delay in acquisition. Moreover, a major share of project cost, which goes as compensation to the farmers, could now be saved. At present, there are over 350 infrastructure projects in the state that are stalled because of land acquisition issues.
