Sealdah is located close to central Kolkata and is an important commercial centre of Kolkata. It is surrounded by neighbourhoods such as Entally, Moulali, College Street, Bowbazaar and Raja Bazaar.

Connectivity

Sealdah enjoys smooth connectivity with the rest of the city via the AJC Bose Road that runs in the north as APC Roy Road. The Beleghata Main Road connects it to east Kolkata while Mahatma Gandhi Road connects it to the western neighbourhoods. The area is home to the Sealdah Railway Station which acts as the starting point for the Kolkata Suburban Railway Network Routes. Several long distance trains such as the Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express depart from here.
The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is 12 kilometres away roughly while the Howrah Station is 4.9 kilometres from here. The area is served by trams that ply till Gariahat. Numerous state and private buses, taxis, hand pulled rickshaws and autos are available from here to commute to different parts of the city.

Sealdah is one of the older neighbourhoods of Kolkata and mostly has resale properties on offer. However, there have been several multi-storeyed apartments and gated communities constructed in the vicinity of the area. They offer apartments of 2 and 3BHK configurations mostly.
