      Modi Lays Foundation Stone For Rs 1,800-Cr PMAY Project In Solapur

      Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 9 announced infrastructure and housing projects worth Rs 3,168 crore in Maharashtra’s Solapur. The projects include the four-lane laned Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad section on the National Highway-211 and a housing project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The housing project, being launched among the many infrastructure projects, would be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,811.33 crore. Under this project, over 30,000 homes will be built for the low-income group and economically-weaker section categories.

      NBCC, Kotak Among 4 Shortlisted To Buy Insolvency-Hit Jaypee Infratech

      Government-owned NBCC along with Kotak Investment, Singapore-based Cube Highways and Suraksha Group have been shortlisted to acquire debt-laden Jaypee Infratech. Currently, insolvency proceedings against the company are underway in the National Company Law Tribunal. Last year, when Lakshadweep Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Sudhir Valia-led Suraksha Asset Reconstruction Company and Mumbai-based Dosti Realty, won the bid to buy the company for Rs 7,350 crore, Jaypee declined the offer on the grounds of undervaluation.
