Ganapathy is a residential and commercial neighbourhood located in Coimbatore. It is the most densely populated region under Coimbatore Corporation. Situated two kilometres away from Gandhipuram Ganapathy it is encompassed by places including Chinnavedampatti, Poosaripalyam, Rathinapuri, Maniyakarampalayam, Vilankurichi and Avarampalayam. Sathy Road is the heart of Ganapathy.

Connectivity
Ganapathy is well-connected by roadways to various parts of the city. The area has some of the most congested roads in Coimbatore except the road from Maniyakaramplayam Junction to Saravanampatti. To ease the congestion on Sathy Road it has been proposed to convert Peelamedu- Kalapatty- Saravanampatty into a Ring Road by State Highways Department. This 12-kilometres stretch from Sitra Junction in Peelamedu would traverse through Kalapatty and join Sathyamangalam Road at Saravanampatty and Mettuppalayam Road at Thudiyalur. This road will give Sathy Road an alternate route through either sides of Avinashi Road or Mettuppalayam Road. Ganapathy has a town bus stand that has been functioning for a long time. The airport can be accessed from Ganapathy via FCI Road while the railway station can be reached via MG Road Avarampalayam.

Real Estate
The increasing population of Ganapathy combined with its strategic location and ease of navigation has led to a rapid growth in the real estate in Ganapathy. This is further triggered by the IT boom and a number of upcoming commercial and residential complexes in the area. In addition, Air Force Naval Housing Project (AFNHB), a central government organisation for the welfare of Defence Personnel, has undertaken a project for constructing apartment buildings for Air Force and Navy Personnel in Ganapathy. The Rs 88-crore project on a proposed 13 acres land was initiated by Rear Admiral R Gaikwad Director General, AFNHB. Shapporji Pallonji and Company Ltd has been entrusted with the contract and is supposed to entail 372 dwelling units apart from a swimming pool and jogging path.

The social infrastructure of Ganapathy includes prominent educational institutions including Corporation High School, Apex Primary and Nursery School, Grace Joseph Amala English Medium School, CMS Matriculation Higher Secondary School, J.A.S College, DA College, SNR Sons College etc. The healthcare facility of Ganapathy is well-equipped with a chain of hospitals and nursing homes that include Sankara Eye Institutions, Siva Hospital, Kovai E.N.T Clinic, Sriramakrishna Hospital, G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital etc.
Several banks such as ICICI Bank, Canara Bank, South Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, Indian Overseas Bank, Syndicate Bank have their branches in and around the area.
