About
Tirupati is a city in Chittoor district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is hailed as one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites owing to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and a host of other temples. It is often referred to as the Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh. It was also named as the Best Heritage City for the year 2012-13 by Indias Ministry of Tourism.
City Infrastructure
The city boasts of smooth connectivity to major cities through a number of national and state highways, including the NH 71 and NH 140. APSRTC operates buses to various destinations from Tirupati bus station complex, besides privately operated bus services. When it comes to rail transport, Tirupati Main is the chief railway station, apart from Chandragiri, Tirupati West Halt, and Tiruchanur. Tirupati Airport which is around 15 kilometres from the city centre has regular flights to Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, etc. It is being upgraded to international airport, with the current international airport which can be accessed from here is the Chennai International Airport, 130 kilometres away. A major educational hub in Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati hosts several prominent universities and colleges, including Sri Venkateswara University, Sri Venkateswara Medical College, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, IIT Tirupati, and few others. It has been selected as one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a Smart City.

The Centre has already announced a plan for establishment of Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Tirupati and with the city already equipped with all the necessary facilities in terms of connectivity, education, health and other sectors, several homebuyers are opting for property in Tirupati. Realtors are of the opinion that the demand for residential properties here will witness an increasing demand as investors as well as end users are confident of reaping good returns in the long run. Several buyers want to have a second home in Tirupati, due to the high religious value of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. Lifestyle
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is the most noteworthy temple, which takes pride in being the worlds richest Vaishnavite temple of Lord Venkateswara. Other ancient temples of the city include Padmavati Temple, Govindaraja Temple, Kapileswara Temple, and few others. Chandragiri Fort, Chandragiri archeological museum, Sri Venkateswara National Park, Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, and Regional Science Centre are other places of historial and tourist importance. The city celebrates all major Hindu festivals, which includes Sankranti, Ugadi, Krishna Janmashtami, Maha Shivratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Deepavali, Rama Navami, Kartik Poornima, etc. Srivari Brahmotsavam is a nine-day event when the Tirupati temple witness lakhs of devotees. A carnival named Tirupati Ganga Jatra is celebrated with great fervor here, besides other local festivals such as Vaikunta Ekadasi and Rathasaptami. There are also several shopping districts in the city. A medical hub, Tirupati houses major hospitals such as Sri Venkateswara Ram Narayan Ruia Government Hospital, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Government Maternity Hospital, amongst others.
