The largest city in Haryana, a state in North Indian, Faridabad is part of the National Capital Region, bordering New Delhi. It is a leading industrial centre surrounded apart from Delhi by Noida, Greater Noida, and Gurgaon. It is also famous for henna production. City infrastructure
Greater Faridabad, the residential and industrial part of the city that lies between Agra Canal and the Yamuna River is being developed as a self-sustained sub-city, with wide roads, tall buildings, malls, educational institutions, and health & commercial centres. Through the centre of the Faridabad district passes the Delhi-Agra National Highway-2.
The city boasts many railway stations Old Faridabad and Faridabad New Town being the major ones. The extension of Delhi Metros Violet Line to Faridabad has further increased this citys accessibility from the national capital. There also are plans of linking Faridabad with Gurgaon by the Metro. Currently, the Faridabad corridor of Delhi Metro Violet Line is the longest corridor in NCR.
Other infrastructural projects that are soon to reach completion include two upcoming bridges over the Yamuna and the Kalindi Kunj bypass project. Faridabad has also been selected as one of the 100 cities to be developed under the Centres Smart Cities Mission.
Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) will be establishing a solar power plant at the site of a defunct thermal power plant. And, construction work on four additional bridges connecting Faridabad with Greater Faridabad will soon be started by the Haryana Urban Development Authority.

Faridabad has emerged as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the countrys real estate sector, after Gurgaon, Delhi, and Noida. The top locations for property in Faridabad are Kabulpur Patti Mahtab, Maroli, NIT 3, Pali Village, and Sector 17. It is a highly sought-after residential destination, offering a wide array of living options at affordable prices. Property prices here are generally lower than other parts of NCR, a major factor drawing investors. Surajkund, Palwal, NIT (trial area), Ballabhgarh, and Greater Faridabad are some of the upcoming locations seen as lucrative for investment in residential property.

Badkhal Lake, located in Badkhal village, is a prominent tourist spot in the vicinity. Fringed by Aravalli Hills, the lake complex is spread over 40 acres, and was revived by the Haryana government in June 2015 to attract tourists. Other popular attractions include Surajkund Tourist Complex and International Crafts Fair, Anangpur Dam, and religious sites like Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir, Jharna Mandir Village, and ISKCON Temple. Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium in this city can accommodate around 25,000 people and has hosted several prestigious matches.
