Chakan is a residential town in Pune, Maharashtra. Lying about 34 kms from the city center, Chakan is stationed on the NH-50 between Cities of Nashik and Pune. The roads which connect Pune-Mumbai Highway to the Pune-Nashik Highway and to the Pune- Ahmednagar- Aurangabad Highway connect the area. The neighboring areas of the Chakan include Om Sai Nagar, Mutkewadi, Swapna Nagari, Jambukar Wasti, Kaharabwadi and Kadachiwadi.

Connectivity
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) runs a number of buses which connect Chakan to the other areas of Maharashtra. The highway provides excellent connectivity between the residential sites of Chakan and also connects it to Pune city, Pimpri- Chinchwad town and many other areas. Chakan has many bus stops on NH- 50 like Ambethan Chowk, Chakan ST Stand, Talegaon Phata, PCMC Bus Depo and Chakan Ambegaon Bus Stop, etc.
The nearest airport to the area is Pune International Airport. There is a proposed expansion of Pune International Airport at a distance of about 6 km from Chakan at the Shiroli village.
