To Decongest East Delhi, Centre Proposes A 19-Km HigThe Centre is planning to build a 19-km highway starting from Loni near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border to the Akshardham flyover. The new highway will allow commuters to avoid the congested areas of east Delhi and reach the Saharanpur-bound national highway NH709B near Loni from the NH-24 directly. The project has received an in-principle approval while it may take upto three months to file a detailed project report.
Pali Hill Residents May Soon Put Waste To Better UsePali Hill in Bandra is ready to inaugurate waste-to-energy plant that would convert 800kg wet waste into biogas to light up street lights and bulbs. The wet waste will be collected from 78 buildings and 23 bungalows and would be treated in the plant, saving at least Rs 8-10 lakh annually. The project site has been provided by the BMC while the funding is done by Pali Hill Residents Association.
