Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority was constituted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh with a view towards executing and implementing the Yamuna Expressway Project and all other development in the area. This was initially known as the Taj Expressway Industrial Development Authority as per the Notification of 24th April, 2001 as per the regulations of the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act of 1976. The responsibilities of the YEIDA extend to all construction and development related activities in the area.
The Yamuna Expressway stretches for approximately 165 kilometres and connects Agra and Delhi. This is a six lane Expressway and comes with toll plazas and interchanges. The entire notified area spans six districts and has been developed in two phases. The responsibilities of YEIDA covered the implementation of the Expressway itself along with land acquisition for development of the area, zonal and master plan preparations for development along the entire length of the Expressway and setting up of other necessary infrastructure including drainage, feeder roads and electrification.
