Centre Plans Strengthening North-East Region With EnThe Indian government, under ‘Act East’ Policy, is developing infrastructure projects in the North Eastern Region (NER) to boost connectivity. It will develop road networks spanning 5,200 kilometres in the North East Region along with National Highway projects and undertake upgradation under the Bharatmala Pariyojana and invest Rs 48,000 crore for building 15 new rail line projects across the state capitals.

There are plans to extend the corridor, by 9 km, to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (terminal T2) from Andheri (East), and to Mira Road-Bhayendar from Dahisar. The project is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 6,208 crore and is expected to be operational by 2019.
BMC Plans To Reclaim Mulund Dumping GroundThe Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has finalised a Rs 558-crore deal to treat solid waste at the Mulund dumping ground through biomining and free up 60-acre space in the city. This space will be used for public amenities. It is a five-year deal during which 7,000 million-tonne dump at the site will be segregated and treated.
Mumbai Metro Line-IV To Get Operational By 2021The Mumbai Metro Line-IV has been planned as a fully elevated corridor with 32 stations from Wadala near south Mumbai and Kasarvadavli near Thane West via Ghatkopar and Mulund. There are plans to extend the line by 2.7 kilometres to Gaimukh. The 32.32-kilometre Metro corridor has an estimated cost of Rs 14,549 crore and is expected to be completed by 2021.
