Madhyamgram is a neighbourhood towards the extreme north of Kolkata. It is under the North 24 Parganas district and the Barasat Sadar Subdivision. The area has been made a part of the area governed by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority. The area has its own municipality. Connectivity
The main thoroughfare of the area is the Jessore Road which continues from here to Barasat in the north and Dum Dum in the south. The Sodepur Road also connects the area to the Barrackpore Trunk Road or BT Road. The main thoroughfare of the area is through trains that run along the Sealdah Main Line. The Madhyamgram Railway Station is one of the stops along this route.
The Netaji Subhash International Airport is a drive of fifteen minutes from here. Private and state buses, autos and cycle rickshaws are available for residents to make use of. The area is also slated to be served by the metro railway, as a route from Barasat to Dum Dum will touch upon the neighbourhood.
