FSI In India's Top 10 Cities
The Floor Space Index (FSI) or Floor Area Ratio (FAR) is the ratio of the total area of a building to the area of the plot on which it is built. To accommodate the growing space demands in cities, the government is considering increasing the FSI. The FSI ranges between 1.2 and 3.5 in Delhi; 1.33 and 1.83 in Mumbai; 1.5 and 2.5 for Kolkata; 1.5 and 2 in Chennai; 1.2 and 1.8 in Ahmedabad; 1.75 and 3.35 in Bengaluru; 1 and 1.45 in Gurgaon; 2.75 and 3.5 in Noida; and 1.5 and 2.5 in Pune. Hyderabad has not FSI restrictions on buildings.
