Home Sutra: Vastu Tips To Remove Defects Of Northeast Direction
The northeast direction, according to the ancient science of Vastu Shastra, is governed by Lord Shiva. This corner of a home is considered to be the most auspicious and energetic among all the eight directions. This area, also called the Ishanya corner, is the most exposed to the sun. According to experts, this direction is ideal for a prayer room and meditation centre and should be kept clutter-free.
Vastu defects in the northeast direction
Construction of a toilet, a kitchen, the bedrooms, a staircase, an overhead water tank or a septic tank in the northeast directions is a major Vastu defect. A cut in the northeast corner is inauspicious. If the rules of the northeast direction are not adhered to, it can lead to health issues related to the head such as migraine. It can also cause misunderstandings in the family and financial difficulties, too.
*Place a bowl of sea salt or a Vastu pyramid inside a northeast toilet. Replace the salt regularly.
*Do not construct overhead water tanks in the northeast direction. If a water tank is already built, paint it in red colour.
*In case of a cut in the floor plan, place mirrors in the existing northeast corner to nullify the negative effects.
*For a northeast staircase, arrange two copper tortoises facing each other below the lowest step. This will minimise the dosha greatly.
