Home Sutra: Vastu Tips For Choosing Furniture Material
The material used in making furniture has an impact on the overall flow of energies in the house. According to Vastu experts, furniture, especially a bed made using iron or steel can disrupt the flow of positive energy and hamper the overall well-being of a person using it. Wood is considered a better alternative. However, wooden furniture, experts say, should not be purchased on a Tuesday, a Saturday and on the day of new moon (Amavasya).
Here are some more Vastu tips when choosing furniture materials:
*Fix pieces of wood under each leg of an iron bed to remove the Vastu defect.
*Wood from a mango tree is ideal for making a pooja mandap.
*Furniture such as chairs, table and swing made of quality wood is regarded auspicious.
*Always use wood obtained from auspicious trees such as Sandal, Ashoka, Teak or Neem. Avoid those obtained from thorny or termite-infested trees, or Pipal and Banyan.
