City Beat: Jaipur To Gain From Online Monitoring Of Building Constructions [Video]
Rajasthan's urban development and housing department has directed all authorities and urban improvement trusts to develop an online system to monitor the construction of buildings. This online system will ensure hassle-free monitoring and give a boost to the state's major real estate centres like Jaipur.
The move, which has come after directions from the Union urban development ministry, is part of Rajasthan's efforts to push ease of doing business. According to department officials, taking the system online will eliminate corruption and ensure timeliness of project deliveries.
To bring more transparency, officials from different zones will be asked to perform a random inspection on projects in zones other than their own and all the building plans and site maps will be published online.
The urban development and housing department of Rajasthan will also frame laws based on directions from the Union urban development ministry. These laws will enable developers to receive all the required approvals, permissions and clearances under one roof, and lead to a single-window integrated building plan approval system. That will bring down the approval time to a maximum of 30 days.
These moves, when fully implemented, are expected to come as a major boost to Jaipur's real estate scene. A single online window for approvals will eliminate project delays and have a positive impact on buyer sentiment. It is also likely to bring down the prices marginally because the costs involved and time spent by developers in procuring approvals will be reduced significantly.
Overall, these initiatives could make Jaipur a lucrative real estate market for investment. So, this may be a great time for developers who are not operating in the city so far but want to explore the market.
