DDA extends housing scheme form submission deadline
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the last date for submission of forms of the housing scheme from October 9 to October 15. This move comes after the civic body received a confounding response in the last three days of the original DDA Housing Scheme closure date. The civic authority has also extended the timings for accepting the completed application forms from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Considering the festive season the civic body has decided to extend the Housing Scheme form submission deadline. Due to a string of national holidays, many people were unable to buy and submit the application forms on time. Also a-fortnight-long Shraddh period which is considered 'inauspicious' hampered the form selling and submission process. It is believed that around 20 lakh application forms have been sold till now, but only 3.5 lakh forms have been received by the DDA.
The tentative date for holding the draw of lots has also been set. It is expected that the draw of lots will happen on November 5. The draw of lots will be held by a three-member team which will be headed by a retired high court judge. The team will also have two IT professionals, one from National Informatics Centre and the other from IIT-Delhi. DDA is also ramping up its website in order to cope with the heavy online traffic.
