Cidco To Sell 2,000 More Houses Through Lottery In December
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) says it would hold a draw of lots for sale of 2,000 homes meant for the EWS and LIG sections in the last week of December.
On October 2, the Cidco, the agency responsible for building infrastructure in Navi Mumbai, held the online draw to allot affordable homes under its Mega Housing Scheme 2018. The scheme, launched on August 11, had over 14,000 housing units on sale in different parts of satellite town. The Cidco expects to start giving possession of these units, being built as part of the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), by next year. Possession of these units will be given in three phases —in October 2020, in December 2020 and March 2021.
Here is everything you need to know about the Cidco Lottery Scheme 2018:
Units: Up for grabs were a total of 14,838 housing units speared across 11 locations of Navi Mumbai. Among the localities where these units will be built are Taloja, Kalamboli, Kharghar, Ghansoli and Dronagiri. Now, 20,000 more units are up for grabs.
Eligibility: Only people from economically weaker section (EWS) and low-income group (LIG) categories could apply under the scheme. Units meant for the EWS category will have a carpet area of 25.81 square metre (sqm) while flats meant for the LIG category will have carpet area of 29.82 sqm. Note that households earning an average monthly income of less than Rs 25,000 fall in the EWS category while households earning Rs 25,000-50,000 a month come under the LIG category.
Price range: Flats for the EWS category would cost between Rs 17-18 lakh, units meant for the LIG category would cost Rs 25-26 lakh.
