Colours Come To Life At Radhika Apte’s Versova Home
Sacred Games actress Radhika Apte, is known for portraying off-beat roles in movies and also for being candid about her opinions on social issues. Her personality seems to reflect in the interiors of the house she resides in with her violinist and composer husband, Benedict Taylor. The actor, who moved from London to Mumbai after her marriage for her career, lives in a beautiful, tastefully-decorated apartment.
Where’s the house located?
The couple chose a compact 2BHK apartment as their abode in Versova near Andheri West. Versova is home to many other prominent personalities from the Indian film industry, including Manisha Koirala, Deepti Naval and Himesh Reshammiya.
A glance at the interiors
The apartment has been designed by the couple themselves and brightens up with splashes of vibrant colours on different walls and doors.
Living room: The living room is spacious and exudes warm vibes with a cosy seating arrangement. The rooms have high ceilings and open spaces which receive ample and much-needed natural light - a point Apte stresses on quite strongly.
Kitchen: Fitted with all the essentials, the kitchen space is where the actress heads to prepare her nutritious morning meal. The area has a simple and subdued theme, which blends well with the other areas of the apartment.
Bedroom: A comfy bed, chairs, curtains of subtle shades and roomy wardrobes complete the look of the minimalist bedroom decor. The actor has opted for a full-length mirror which virtually expands the room space.
Guest room: A spare room inside the apartment has been set aside for the guests. One of the striking features of this space is an accent wall painted in fiery yellow and adorned with paintings and photo frames.
Dressing room: Coming from the glamour world, the actress gets into her work mode inside her personalised dressing room which is equipped with the required paraphernalia for hair styling and make-up.
From wall bookshelves to corner bookcases, the avid reader within the actor has a huge collection of books and settles down to read her favourite books on an upholstered, low-height couch placed near the patio which has been converted into a leisure zone, shimmering in Mediterranean accent colours.
The actress also loves to stay connected with nature; and has generously included indoor plants and hanging-planters as a focal decor element for the interiors.
The furnishings bring a modern-meets-vintage look to the entire living room. The ‘Sacred Games’ actor has mentioned in an interview that she cherishes three special furniture items in her home which belong to her grandmother, taking her down the memory lane.
