Take Steps To Make Delhi Cleaner, Prettier: L-G To MCDs
Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on December 11 reviewed the work done by all three municipal corporations – the East Delhi Municipal Corporation, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and the South Delhi Municipal Corporation – to keep the national capital clean and beautiful. A statement of the L-G Office said that Baijal directed the civic bodies to ensure proper lighting arrangement in and around all toilet complexes and public parks in the city.
"All three municipal commissioners assured the L-G that efforts are being made to ensure that all toilets complexes have proper lights. It was desired that weekly progress report will be sent to the urabn development department in this respect," the statement read.
Baijal said that municipal bodies should continue to take steps that focus on cleanliness and sanitation of the areas, and ensure that the general public was also involved in maintenance of assets.
"The progress about the encroachment removal on 29 identified stretches was also reviewed. The L-G emphasised that the places, which are made encroachment-free should not be allowed to be re-encroached," it statement said.
