Maha CM Approves DPR For Mumbai Metro 4A Extension Route
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given an approval to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the extension of Metro 4A project route from Kasarwadavali to Gaimukh in Thane district. This additional route is part of a 32-km long Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund Thane Kasarwadvali corridor.
The Rs 949-crore project, on the extended route, will have two stations – Gowniwada and Gaimukh. The 2.7-kms extension will connect the entire Ghodbunder Road by the Metro corridor till Gaimukh. The project is expected to be completed by March 2022.
Once extended, the route will add 1.5 lakh passengers to the existing estimate of 8.7 lakh. This route will ease the commute between Thane and South Mumbai.
