Hyderabad's Ameerpet-Hitech City Metro Route To Open In December
If all goes well, the 10-km long stretch on Hyderabad Metro's Blue Line between Ameerpet and Hitech City will get operational by December. It was in September when 16-km Ameerpet-LB Nagar stretch on Red Line was open for public. Hyderabad Metro was inaugurated in November 2017 and is now the second largest metro rail network in the country.
The Blue Line extension from Ameerpet to Hitech City will have nine stations- Ameerpet, Madhura Nagar, Yousufguda, Jubilee Hills, Jubilee Hills Checkpost, Pedamma Temple, Madhapur, Durgam Cheruvu, Hitech City.
Currently, the operational metro routes are-
Miyapur-LB Nagar (Red Line)
Miyapur- JNTU College- KPHB Colony- Kukkatpally- Balanagar- Moosapet- Bharat Nagar- Erragada- ESI Hospital- SR Nagar- Ameerpet- Punjagutta- Irrum Manzil, Khairatabad- Lakdi Ka Pul- Assembly- Nampally- Gandhi Bhawan- Osmania Medical College- MG Bus Station- Malakpet- New Market- Musarambagh- Dilsukh Nagar- Chaitainyapuri- Victoria Memorial- LB Nagar
Ameerpet-Nagole (Blue Line)
Ameerpet- Begumpet- Prakash Nagar- Rasoolpura- Paradise- Parade Ground- Secunderabad East- Mettuguda- Tarnaka- Habisguda- NGRI- Stadium- Uppal- Nagole.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the 30km-long first phase of the Metro project.
The project, which started in July 2012, was initially scheduled to be completed by June 2017 (in all three corridors), but, land acquisition and other issues resulted in the project overshooting the deadline.
