Fire In NY's Trump Tower Kills 1, Injures Many
Trump Tower on the Fifth Avenue in New York was in for a bad day when fire broke out on April 8 leaving one dead and many injured. The fire erupted on the 50th floor where most of resident apartments are located.
Although the cause of the blaze has not been reported yet, the things, officials say, became worse as the building lacked water sprinkler system. According to reports, the building was completed in 1983, years before sprinkler systems became mandatory for every structure in the city.
According to an Associated Press report, the owners of the older, residential highrises are mandated to add the systems only when the building undergoes major renovation.
US President Donald Trump and wife Melanie Trump have a home and an office in this NY-based building. However, during the time of the accident, the duo, along with their son Barron, were in Washington DC.
It was earlier in January that a fire had broken out in the tower’s heating system causing smoke and injuring three people in the accident.
