Delhi RERA Portal Launched
Two years after the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, came into force, Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal on June 26 launched the official portal of the Delhi Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The official portal (rera.delhi.gov.in) was earlier accessible through the Delhi Development Authority's website. The website aims to promote transparency and accountability among the stakeholders of the real estate sector.
In November last year, retired IAS officer Vijay S Madan was appointed as the full-time real estate regulator of the Delhi RERA. Madan, a former director- general in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), was appointed for a term of five years while Gyan Prakash Srivastava and Ramesh Chandra were appointed as members of the authority.
Delhi has already notified provisions of the RERA which protects the interest of homebuyers.
