DDA Announces E-Auction Of Over 600 Plots

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced its plans to e-auction over 600 freehold industrial, residential, institutional and commercial plots across the national capital. Space for mobile tower and kiosks will be available for bidding. According to the advertisement published in an English daily, the registration for the auction will start on January 7 while the last date is January 24, 2020.

DDA Will Now Auction Land To Social, Religious Entities

Update on Sep 18, 2019: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will now allot land in socio-cultural and religious category through the auction mode. Earlier, land parcels in these categories were directly allotted to the organisation.

 The decision to amend Nazul Rule, 1981, was taken in the urban body’s meeting on September 17, 2019, in the presence of DDA Chairman Anil Baijal. Now, while the maximum size of plots allotted in the socio-culture category would be 1,000 square metre (sqm), the upper limit of plot size would be 400 sqm for the religious category. The proposal will be now be sent to the union housing ministry for a final approval.

 To take part in the auction, an entity must fulfill certain terms and conditions. An organisation should, for instance, have five years’ experience in running a reputed institution.  Apart from submitting with the DDA its audited balance sheet of past five years, the organisation will also have to deposit a project report for the proposed structure at the site. It will also have to prove it has sufficient funds to carry out the development work.

 Apart from this, DDA has approved amalgamation charges for commercial properties at 10 per cent of the circle rates. This amount has to be paid at the time of submission of the request for amalgamation. It will apply to the total area of the plot. Earlier, the value of 10 per cent of the market value of the plot and market value of the extra floor generated was worked out separately, and the greater of the two was charged towards the amalgamated fee.

 The authority has also removed the embargo for the execution of conveyance deed for 770 allottees under the economically weaker sections (EWS) category of its 2014 housing scheme.
