Missing Security Guards: Greater Noida Authority To Slap Fine
You may have chosen Noida real estate market lured by its affordability, but you still are apprehensive about your safety and security. You do get more worried when in your sparsely populated neighbourhood you are welcomed by an unmanned entry gate at your residential complex. Fret not for security guards manning your housing complex will be more alert now.
According to media reports, the Greater Noida Authority has decided to impose a heavy penalty on security agencies whose guards are found missing from their duty sites. It has already started the process to inspect the sites to make sure security guards are doing their job. Officials will be carrying cameras to shoot video that would act as a proof against those who play truant.
About 10-15 per cent of the monthly contract fee that the authority pays to private security agencies will be deducted in case security guards fail to stick to their area of operation. This may amount to agencies losing Rs 2 lakh a month.
It is worth mention here that owing to lack of police personnel, the authority has roped in about 10 private security agencies, and pays them a monthly Rs 2 crore for the job. Coming from these agencies, about 550 security guards man the government and residential building of the city. Armed guards are also deployed at under-construction sites in Greater Noida.
“We have deployed these guards in residential areas where residents’ welfare associations are yet to be formed and residents feel unsafe, as the occupancy level is low in their respective areas,” Greater Noida Authority Senior Manager KM Chaudhary was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying.
