Inside Parineeti Chopra’s Sea-Facing Home
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra may have that girl-next-door-look, but she certainly made some exceptional choices when it comes to real estate. Her latest buy, a sea-facing apartment in Bandra, is one of a kind, which she picked after scouring 30 houses. Designed by Shabnam Gupta from The Orange Lane, the house seems to resonate her calm and restful vibe as it has an expansive balcony overlooking the deep blue sea.

Spread over an area of 2,815 sq ft, the apartment has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dining room, a living room and a balcony. The living room has contrasting colourful elements such as a red side table, patterned rug, abstract painting and white walls.
The balcony is designed as an outdoor lounge which complements the living room and becomes an extension of it when required. The soft lighting, custom seating and dark wood flooring creates a calm space for relaxing. The upper section of the railings are left open and covered by semi-transparent blinds while the lower section is covered with panels of glass.
There is a jhoola and a vertical garden which opens up to a powder room. This is the most interesting part of the home as there is a bit of quirk along with industrial elements such as antique sewing machine, concrete ceiling, vintage bunker lights and black slate stone on the floor.
The dining area is Gupta’s signature style- layers upon layers with contrasting patterns, using sea-green and black slate strips on the pale floor. There is a zany installation on the wall of the dining room, made of retro fiberglass telephone instruments that adds an edge to the space.
The master bedroom has a dark-brown shell, and the white ceiling provides visual calmness and lightness to the space. The large world map and pink side-table lamps are hard to miss. The room opens into the balcony deck.
The second bedroom in the house has been converted into a dressing room and is very elegantly designed. There is a large white-painted vanity area while the door next to it leads to a walk-in closet. There is a designer shoe alcove on the other side of the room.
