For that to happen, they also need to be have a home close to that specific educational institute. Also, some schools only accept children living within a certain distance from the school premises.

Thane 

Average price: Rs 12,767 psf 

Livability: 8.4

Top school/s*: Smt Sulochanadevi Singhania School 

Thane in the past few years, has witnessed a strong development of civic and social infrastructure. The upcoming Metro routes here will further improve its connectivity with Mumbai. 

Homebuyers can invest in over 1,100 projects in Thane, of which 765 are ready-to-move-in while 264 are under construction. One could pick from apartments available in 1BHK-5BHK configurations. The property prices start here at Rs 58 lakhs and go up to Rs 4.6 crores.

Colaba

Colaba is one of the most premium property markets in Mumbai, with a well-developed social and civic infrastructure. The locality lies close to some of the renowned commercial centres. Having a home here would mean that you will have to spend an average of Rs 1.6 crore to buy a 2BHK apartment-this figure is not correct. Homebuyers have limited property options here with 11 ready-to-move-in projects available for sale.   

Cuffe Parade

Cuffe Parade is another expensive neighbourhood lying close to Colaba. The locality is among the oldest in the city, and homebuyers can access well-developed infrastructure. 

There are only two projects that are in a ready-to-move-in stage in Cuffe Parade. While apartments here are available for a starting price of Rs 80 lakh, to buy a decent 2BHK one would have to shell out at least Rs 3 crore-please check these figures.  

Bandra 

Average price: Rs 23,020 psf

Known as the social centre of Mumbai, Bandra houses some of the top-class professionals working at Mumbai’s CBD Bandra-Kurla Complex. The locality has witnessed a price increase in property due to commercial development in nearby areas. 

Those planning to invest here could look at over 180 ready-to-move-in projects or nearly 40 under-construction projects. Apartments here are available in 1BHK-5BHK configurations, with prices starting at Rs 1.63 crore going up to Rs 20 crore.  

 

Dahisar

Dahisar is an emerging suburb in Mumbai, located close to areas such as Andheri, Borivali and Goregaon. Those looking for property at affordable prices in Mumbai, can consider Dahisar. 

The locality offers over 110 ready-to-move-in projects with apartments in 1BHK, 2BHK and 3BHK configurations. These apartments can be bought for an average price of Rs 70 lakh to Rs 1.6 crore.   

Borivali

Average price: Rs 15,938 psf

Another popular suburb in Mumbai,¬†Borivali¬†is a premium¬†neighbour¬†of¬†Dahisar. The locality also lies close to the commercial hubs of¬†Goregaon¬†and¬†Andheri.¬†The locality has more options for those looking for ready-to-move-in apartments ‚ĒÄ over 260 projects¬†are available in this category. A wide range of units can be bought here ranging between 1BHK apartments and 8BHK villas. An investor will have to shell an average of¬†Rs¬†1¬†crore¬†for a 1BHK while the average price of an 8BHK villa could cross the¬†Rs¬†8-crore mark.¬†¬†¬†

Chembur 

Average price: Rs 19,641 psf

Chembur is a favourite among real estate investors, considering the development in the area. The locality has fast-emerged as a residential destination with connectivity through Metro as well as Monorail. 

The locality offers over 290 projects in the ready-to-move-in category. Chembur also has a wide range of configurations ranging between 1BHK and 8BHK. The average price of a 1BHK apartment in Chembur is Rs 1 crore while this number could go up to Rs 20 crore for an 8BHK. 

Tardeo 

Average price: Rs 43,560 psf 

Livability: 9.3 

Top school/s: Aditya Birla World School, JBCN International School 

Tardeo is a well-developed residential as well as a commercial centre. The locality lies close to areas like August Marg, Peddar Road, Grant Road West, Zoroastrian Colony and Cumballa Hill. 

There are nearly 35 projects that are ready-to-move-in here with apartments in 1BHK to 5BHK configurations. While a 1BHK can be bought for an average price of Rs 2.3 crore, a 5BHK would cost you an average of Rs 20 crore.  

Juhu

Known as a leisure hub, Juhu is among the priciest property markets in Mumbai. Over 70 projects here are in the ready-to-move-in category with apartments in 1BHK-6BHK configurations. For a 1BHK, a homebuyer will have to spend an average of Rs 3.6 crore while for a 6BHK the prices could go up to Rs 14.2 crore.   

Andheri West 

Average price: Rs 25,772 psf

Andheri west offers a perfect blend of residential, commercial and retail development that has turned this locality into one of Mumbai’s most sought-after suburbs. 

There are over 300 projects that are available for possession in the locality. These projects have apartments in 1BHK to 5BHK configurations. For a 1BHK apartment, a potential buyer will have to spend an average of Rs 1.1 crore while a 5BHK could cost an average of Rs 10 crore.
