We are in the historic center of Monforte dAlba, one of Italys most picturesque villages, and what we have the pleasure to propose to our clients is the result of a skillful and patient restoration of three adjacent houses which lasted for close to 15 years. The renovation started with the central unit and then proceeded to include the two adjacent houses, the last of which has been completed just 4 years ago. The owners project intended to maintain as much of the existing original structure as possible while at the same time introducing modern industrial materials like metal sheets for some floors and coatings or glass for stairs and walkways. The central house is the pivot of the entire house connecting all three units. The main entrance leads directly into the two-story high living room, on one side there is the ample kitchen with both a small covered terrace and a large 30 square meter panoramic terrace. The open staircase leads to the upper floor featuring two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. On street level there is a guest bedroom with a bathroom as well as a laundry room. The second house, connected with the main house by a door extends over two floors. On the ground floor it contains a kitchen with a spectacular barrel brick vault and a small grotto excavated in the rock on the upper floor there is a bedroom with a balcony and a bathroom with a steel floor and a unique glass wall covering the ancient stone wall. The third house, the last to have been restored, is also the most independent of the three units. Its vertical room arrangement gives it the appearance of a tower house. The ground floor with the main entrance features a room with a bathroom and the modern glass and steel staircase. The first floor contains the kitchen with a balcony and the uppermost floor features another bedroom with a bathroom. The showpiece of the house is the 90 square meter terrace on this floor, divided into a dining area with barbecue and, on a still higher level, a sun deck. The stunning view encompasses the rooftops of Monforte and a large part of the Alpine crescent. The propertys only minor flaw is the lack of a garage which is offset however by the presence of public parking spaces in the vicinity, the only ones in Monforte.
