Malkajgiri is a residential neighborhood in
Hyderabad. It is one of the most populous localities of
Hyderabad governed by the Greater
Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. It is also one of the three parliamentary constituencies of
Hyderabad.
Connectivity
Malkajgiri has a well-organized network of transport and conveyance that connects it with all other parts of the
Hyderabad. Rail network is also efficiently managed across the city. The nearest railway station situated at the rear of St. Martin High School has been converted into an important junction of the city. The rail network here connects it to all the major localities around the city and on its outskirts. The intra city bus network connects it to the neighboring localities like
Secunderabad,
ECIL Roads, Prasanthinagar, and
Kondapur.
Malkajgiri is at 15 to 20-minute drive from
Secunderabad Railway Station. It is 3 km to
Mettuguda junction. Here, the road leads to a place called
Uppal and the
International Airport of
Hyderabad is being converted into eight-lane roads.

Social infrastructure
The ancient town of Mallikarjunagiri was later known as
Malkajgiri. It has its own ancient castle. The locality is famous for a number of temples -- Old Mahankali Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, Potuloori Veerabrahmendraswamy Temple, and the Pocchamma Temple. The Mahankali celebration is the renowned one and eminent celebration in this area. People from farfetched places come here to take part in this festival in large numbers. Natural lakes located in this area add to the beauty of the area.
