When the plan gets implemented, all stations would have elevated decks to give more space to passengers. These decks would have ticket-booking offices, foot-over-bridges and skywalks, leading to the platforms. At present, only the Andheri and the Goregaon stations have elevated decks.
Delhi To Have London-Like Metro-Rail Interlinked Corridor
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation is planning to link the Delhi Metro with high-speed railway network that will bring down the travel time between the national capital and the cities that fall under the NCR. The project, which is estimated to cost Rs 1 lakh crore, is expected to cater to over 20 lakh commuters daily. The completion deadline for the project is yet to be finalised.
After Asola And Mehrauli, Demolition Drive Reaches Adchini
After a demolition drive in Asola on March 14 and in Mehrauli on April 12, the South Delhi task force recently carried out a drive in Adhchini. Forty-year-old shops and a room that was found to be encroaching were razed. Not just these places, in March, the Delhi Traffic Police were able to remove encroachments from 32.5 km of roads in the national capital.
Civilian Flights To Take Off From Hindon Airport; To Boost Ghaziabad Realty Market
Starting of regional flights from the Hindon Airbase, under the regional connectivity scheme (RCS), has been given a clearance by the UP government. Officials are in the process of acquiring land belonging to farmers in the neighbouring Sikandarpur village for the development of passenger facilities. Development of Hindon airbase will not only provide improved regional air connectivity but also boost real estate developments in the neighbouring localities of Ghaziabad and East Delhi.
