Here is all you need to know about all the Metro lines that will operate in Navi Mumbai:
The total length of this corridor will be 23 kilometre (km) and will be constructed in three phases. The foundation stone of the project was laid in 2011.
The second corridor is planned between Mankhurd-NMIA-Panvel that will be implemented by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). It will be a 32-km route, passing through the Navi Mumbai International Airport. The CIDCO has approved Rs 2,820 crore for the project.
The second part of this will be built over the Sion-Panvel Highway connecting Sewree to the Navi Mumbai International Airport. The proposed corridor will be a 22-km route and will also be implemented by the MMRDA.
To be implemented by the Navi Mumbai Metro Corporation, this will be a 20-km route and will connect Dighe-Turbhe-Belapur, the two extensions of Navi Mumbai. The CIDCO has approved Rs 1,850 crore for the project.
This route will connect the affluent localities of Navi Mumbai such as Ghansoli, Vashi and Mhape. It will be a nine-km network to be implemented by the NMMC at a cost of Rs 1,270 crore.
