This four-lane road connecting the Southern Peripheral Expressway with the National Highway-48 will now allow commuters to reach Manesar and Sectors 81 to 95 without having to pay a toll.

    Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway May Cut Travel Time By 8 Hours         

    While process is on to acquire land for the Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on December 25 approved a plan to extend it to the Ring Road near the DND flyway. To do that, the NHAI will build a six-lane 59-km access-controlled road from the Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE) near Sohna that will also bring Manesar closer to the national capital. The Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway, the access-controlled highway that is being built under the Bharatmala Pariyojna Programme, will connect India's national and financial capitals, and will reduce the travel time between the two cities from 20 hours to a mere 12 hours.

    Centre Plans Strengthening North-East Region With Enhanced Connectivity

    The Indian government, under ‘Act East’ Policy, is developing infrastructure projects in the North Eastern Region (NER) to boost connectivity. It will develop road networks spanning 5,200 kilometres in the North East Region along with National Highway projects and undertake upgradation under the Bharatmala Pariyojana and invest Rs 48,000 crore for building 15 new rail line projects across the state capitals.

    Pilot Land Pooling Project Coming Soon In Chennai Suburbs

    Five years after announcement of land pooling policy in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to test the policy in a pilot land pooling project. The housing and urban development department will be acquiring land near Chennai, between Vandalur and Kundrathur adjoining Outer Ring Road, for a residential project in an effort to get the public to participate voluntarily.
