    31 Realty Projects Lose Licences In Haryana Over Violations; Builders May Be Targeted Next

    Haryana’s Department of Town and Country Planning has cancelled licences of over 31 ongoing projects, both commercial and residential. According to the DTCP, it is yet to recover dues worth over Rs 200 crore as external development charges from these projects. Of the defaulting projects, 14 are in Gurgaon, five in Sonipat, three in Faridabad and three in Palwal. Meanwhile, the DTCP has also formed a three-member committee that will look into applications received under the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana.

    PG Owners In Gurgaon To Pay Property Tax On Per-Bed Basis

    The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has estimated a revenue loss of Rs 20 since 2008 as the owners of paying guesthouses were paying tax on residential rates rather than the ‘lodging house’ rates. However, now PG owners in the city will have to pay Rs 1,000 per bed in their establishments as tax under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act. About 40 per cent of these PGs in Gurgaon are in DLF Phases 1,2 and 3.

    New Development Plan: Taller Mumbai Will Have 10 L Affordable Homes By 2034

    The Maharashtra government has sanctioned the Mumbai Development Control and Promotion Regulations 2034. The new plan is expected to open up over 3,700 hectares of land in the city’s no-development zone and salt-pan land. This large tract of land is likely to be used for developing residential real estate in the affordable category. According to the plan, nearly 10 lakh affordable houses will be constructed by 2034. It was earlier this year that the DCPR 2034 was passed by the government.
