In a bid to connect interior and semi-developed towns of Uttar Pradesh, the state government plans to build an expressway between capital Lucknow and Ghazipur. With the state initiating the process to select contractors, the expressway project, also known as the Purvanchal Expressway, is all set to kick off.

The Delhi Development Authority and other city civic bodies might soon face legal action, including registration of FIRs, in case any illegal construction is reported in their respective jurisdiction. This has been laid under the action plan being prepared by the Centre.

The Department of Town and Country Planning is planning to declare 53 villages in Gurgaon as urban areas. With that, Section 7A of the Urban Areas Act, 1975, would apply on development of these 53 villages. When that happens, a seller will have to seek a no-objection certificate from the department to sell his land. The registration department would seek this document at the time of the registration of the property.
