    The Mumbai Metro Line II is being constructed in two sub-phases with 18-km line 2A between Dahisar and DN Nagar; and the 23-km line 2B between DN Nagar and Mankhurd. Construction works begun in 2016 and the DMRC plans to open one part of this line (2A) for the public by 2020.

    Ghaziabad Property May Get Costlier With GDA Hiking Development Charges

    Rates of property in Ghaziabad are likely to go slightly up with the city development authority hiking development charges. The 3.03 per cent increase in the fee comes into effect from April 1 this year. Before the hike came into effect, developers had to pay Rs 3,024 per square metre (psm) as development charge. They will now be paying Rs 3,114 psm.

    Delhi To Have London-Like Metro-Rail Interlinked Corridor

    The National Capital Region Transport Corporation is planning to link the Delhi Metro with high-speed railway network that will bring down the travel time between the national capital and the cities that fall under the NCR. The project, which is estimated to cost Rs 1 lakh crore, is expected to cater to over 20 lakh commuters daily. The completion deadline for the project is yet to be finalised.

    EPCA Lifts Ban; Says There Is Visible Improvement In Delhi Air

    To combat pollution in Delhi, the Environment Pollution Control Authority had called for the shut down of polluting industries. The ban has now been lifted owing to “some visible improvement”, said the EPCA. Only those brick kilns that adopt the zigzag kiln technology would be allowed to operate starting April. Despite all the measures, pollution levels remain very high in areas such as Mandir Marg, Punjabi Bagh, R K Puram and Anand Vihar.
