The Haryana government, in order to increase the supply and stablise property prices in the state, on June 25, 2019 had revised the building norms to allow the construction of housing and commercial projects on smaller land parcels. The norms have been revised based on the zone a project falls under — hyper, high, medium or low, based on the circle rates and the market price of land in a particular area. This move is also aimed at keeping a check on the unauthorised construction and mushrooming of illegal colonies.

According to media reports, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation has plans to beautify eight major markets of the area.
