Kovilpalayam is a town located on the banks of River Kousika. It is 17 kilometers from Coimbatore. The town is on the Sathyamangalam road (National Highway 209) and located in the north-eastern suburbs of Coimbatore. It is also known as Sarcarsamakulam or S.S.Kulam and has many Hindu temples in its surroundings. It is famous for the Kaalakaleshwara Temple. The place celebrates Pradosham Day Festival which attracts crowd from all over Tamil Nadu.
