Kovaipudur is a residential area located at the beginning of Palaghat Pass at the south western periphery of Coimbatore on the borders of the Western Ghats at the foothills of Madurakkai Range in Coimbatore and Walayar ranges in Kerala. Being a rain shadow area leads to a predominantly scrub vegetation in Kovaipudur with an average temperature, significantly lower than Coimbatore. Kovaipudur is situated 15-minute drive from Ukkadam, a 30-minute drive from R.S Puram, and a 35-minute drive from Gandhipuram. A number of bus routes make Kovaipudur easily navigable. Also, numerous mini buses daily traverse the region along Sundakkamuthur Road, which ends at Ukkadam.
