    Karnataka To Construct Highrises Under CM One Lakh Homes Scheme

    Changes were recently made in the CM One Lakh Homes Scheme 2019, meant for the Below-Poverty-Line (BPL) category, owing to lack of land availability and constraint on resources. Under the scheme, announced early this year with an aim to construct homes on 1,500 acres of government land reclaimed from encroachers, highrises of ground-plus-14 floors would be built instead of the previous plan of ground-plus-three floors. This move will help increase the number of units and will accommodate more homebuyers.

    Red Line: Dilshad Garden-Ghaziabad Metro Route To Open In January

    Delhi Metro's Red Line extension to Ghaziabad is all set to get operational by January 2019. The Metro will pass through some of the interior residential hubs of Ghaziabad that would also boost the real estate prospects as well as the livability of the area. The route is covered under Phase-III expansion of the Delhi Metro. The new Metro line will pass through the Sahibabad Industrial Area and will significantly impact the residential areas lying in proximity where the infrastructure is poor.

    New Development Plan: Taller Mumbai Will Have 10 L Affordable Homes By 2034

    The Maharashtra government has sanctioned the Mumbai Development Control and Promotion Regulations 2034. The new plan is expected to open up over 3,700 hectares of land in the city’s no-development zone and salt-pan land. This large tract of land is likely to be used for developing residential real estate in the affordable category. According to the plan, nearly 10 lakh affordable houses will be constructed by 2034. It was earlier this year that the DCPR 2034 was passed by the government.

    PM Modi Inaugurates 135-Km Western Peripheral Expressway

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19 inaugurated the 83-km-long Kundli-Manesar section of this infrastructure project; the remaining 53-km stretch has been operational since April 2016. The expressway will offer signal-free connectivity to Palwal from Sonepat, bypassing Delhi. The expressway highway together with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, will divert as many as 50,000 heavy vehicles away from Delhi.
