Gadkari Lays Foundation Stone For Akshardham-Saharanpur Corridor
The Union transport ministry has cleared a plan to build a 155-km corridor between Akshardham in east Delhi and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The corridor, which will pass through Loni near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border, will decongest the east Delhi areas and allow commuters to reach the Saharanpur-bound National Highway (NH-709B) from the NH-24 directly. Currently, commuters from western Uttar Pradesh have to pass through the areas such as Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, Khajuri Khas and Bhajanpura to reach Saharanpur highway that starts at Loni.
