Basavanagudi is a commercial as well a residential locality of Bengaluru. It is closely located to the Southern region of Bengaluru, bodering Jayanagar. Known to be one of the oldest cities in Bengaluru, the city houses DVG market, one of the oldest commercial streets.

The area is well-connected and easily accessible public transport. There is a 60 kilometres distance between the Bommanahalli towards the Basavanagudi. Driving down to Basavanagudi will take you around one and a half hour from city centre.

This was made possible through passing of Municipal Corporation Act that helped in uniting the two separate municipalities. There are many healthcare clinics and physicians or nurses in the Basavanagudi town. The city has seen a rapid development with the set up of various healthcare centers and hospitals to assist patients.
