        Centre Plans Strengthening North-East Region With Enhanced Connectivity

        The Indian government, under ‘Act East’ Policy, is developing infrastructure projects in the North Eastern Region (NER) to boost connectivity. It will develop road networks spanning 5,200 kilometres in the North East Region along with National Highway projects and undertake upgradation under the Bharatmala Pariyojana and invest Rs 48,000 crore for building 15 new rail line projects across the state capitals.

        Barapullah Road Phase II, III Set To Make Commute Easier

        Barapullah Road Phase II and III will make the commute easier between east and south Delhi. The stretch when operational would start at Mayur Vihar Metro station and would end at Aurobindo Marg and INA Market. The total commute time from east Delhi to airport will come down to 40 minutes. The corridor would also connect NH-24 and NH-8, providing a signal-free ride to the commuters plying towards south Delhi.

        Purvanchal Expressway Moves A Step Closer To Reality; Foundation Stone To Be Laid On July 14

        The Uttar Pradesh government has approved various proposals submitted by shortlisted builders for different packages of the expressway. These projects will be implemented in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model. The expressway will be constructed between capital Lucknow and Ghazipur connecting interior and semi-developed towns of the state.

        To Decongest East Delhi, Centre Proposes A 19-Km Highway

        The Centre is planning to build a 19-km highway starting from Loni near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border to the Akshardham flyover. The new highway will allow commuters to avoid the congested areas of east Delhi and reach the Saharanpur-bound national highway NH709B near Loni from the NH-24 directly. The project has received an in-principle approval while it may take upto three months to file a detailed project report.
