        Haryana's No-Ad-On-Metro-Pillars Policy To Hit DRMC, Rapid Metro

        Under the draft Haryana Municipal Corporation Advertisement Bye-Laws, 2018, advertisement of Metro pillars and medians is prohibited. Advertising is also banned on stations, foot-over-bridges and other properties that face the direction of traffic on roads. Reacting sharply to the provisions, the Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Ltd has said the bye-laws would be a "death knell" for the network. Upcoming projects in the state, said the body, would also be drastically impacted by these provisions.

        Multilevel Parking Facility Fails to Resolve Noida Sector 18 Parking Woes

        The Noida Authority launched a multilevel car-parking (MLCP) facility in January to resolve the parking problems of the Sector 18 market. However, a hike in parking fee and issues such as flawed footpath design and lack of road infrastructure have played the spoilsport for the facility. So far, there are no as many takers for the parking space as the Noida Authority had expected.

        Stop All Construction In Delhi's Unauthorised Colonies: SC

        The Supreme Court has halted further constructions in 1,797 colonies of Delhi, which are not in conformity with the building bye laws. The top court has asked the Centre to set up a special task force to oversee enforcement of laws regarding illegal constructions. Also, the Delhi High Court has warned the Delhi government of a time bomb in the making owing to its vested interest of regularising illegal constructions with the support of municipal corporations.
