While the Ghaziabad Development Authority has directed housing societies spread over 2,000 sqm to have a designated space for a waste treatment plant if they want to get the building plan approved, Delhiā€™s civic agencies have piloted a project asking housing societies to turn wet waste into compost.

      To Decongest East Delhi, Centre Proposes A 19-Km Highway

      The Centre is planning to build a 19-km highway starting from Loni near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border to the Akshardham flyover. The new highway will allow commuters to avoid the congested areas of east Delhi and reach the Saharanpur-bound national highway NH709B near Loni from the NH-24 directly. The project has received an in-principle approval while it may take upto three months to file a detailed project report.

      The National Capital Region Transport Corporation is planning to link the Delhi Metro with high-speed railway network that will bring down the travel time between the national capital and the cities that fall under the NCR. The project, which is estimated to cost Rs 1 lakh crore, is expected to cater to over 20 lakh commuters daily. The completion deadline for the project is yet to be finalised.
